Max the hedgehog is so funny! He keeps calling everyone hodgehegs! I love this book as I love hedgehogs. It also helps you to learn about road safety.

Jemima, aged seven, thinks this...

My teacher has been reading us The Hodgeheg and I really like it. My favourite characters are the three sisters. They are like me and my sisters. I don't have a brother though. I would tell all the Brownies out there to read this book 'cause it's so cool.

Lisa, aged ten, thinks this...

I enjoyed The Hodgeheg and would recommend it to a friend. My favourite character was Max because he was so adventurous and was determined to cross.

In the story, Max wanted to find a safe place for hedgehogs to cross the road. He found one way - a zebra crossing. He tried to get over the road, but got bumped by a car and so had to go home. When he got home he spoke backwardly from the bump. He went out again to find a safer way to cross and found traffic lights with a red and green man. He got bumped again. So when he went out for a third time he found a solution. A lollipop lady! This was a great book.
